Worcester, MA, May 10, 2016; Biomedical Research Models, Inc. (BRM) is excited to announce the rebranding of its Contract Research Organization (CRO) as Biomere. The shift to doing business as Biomere serves as the catalyst behind several key strategic initiatives launching what we are confident will be an important resource for the industry dedicated to research and drug discovery.
Biomere’s dedication towards providing its clients with the best, personalized service in the industry was further advanced by a plan to consolidate at a single location. In April, Biomere took the first step towards this goal by moving into a portion of its newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility. This first phase in the transition to a single site provided greater expansion of one of its fastest growing programs along with new space for scientific, general and administrative staff. The remaining portion of the facility at 57 Union Street in Worcester, MA and completion of the transition will occur this summer. “The consolidation of our existing facilities within a single site provides us with greatly enhanced operational efficiencies. In addition, the first phase of this strategy provides us with significantly expanded capabilities and capacity giving us the means to provide our sponsors with the best value for their discovery dollars”, said Dennis Guberski, President and Chairman at Biomere.
In addition and as part of the company’s overall strategy, a number of key personnel moves were announced. In March, Mark Nedelman, MS, MBA was named as CEO. Over the course of Mark’s 30 year career in the CRO and biopharmaceutical industries, he has played leading roles growing research based businesses as GM of a preclinical business unit at Charles River Labs along with heading preclinical pharmacology at Centocor contributing to the development and approval of a number of first-in-class drugs.
April Hall, MS, MBA was also named as Vice President of Business Development. A biomedical engineer by training, April has 25 years’ experience leading business development efforts at a number of leading contract labs including Charles River, Transgenomics and Sinclair Research.
“With April leading our business development efforts and Mark assuming overall leadership of the company, I am excited for Biomere and look forward to its transformation as we evolve to better meet the needs of the industry and our clients” commented Guberski.
