Kristin R. Sapp, MS, CMAR
Associate Director, Genetically Modified Animal Program
Kristin Sapp is an embryologist specializing in both generating and managing genetically engineered rodent models and colonies with over 20 years of experience.
Kristin began her career first at Genzyme Transgenics Corporation as a microinjectionist and later as the Senior Transgenic Core Manager at GTC Biotherapeutics (later LFB USA) where she was part of the research team responsible for bringing the first approved medicine produced using genetically engineered animals to market.
In early 2019, Kristin joined the Biomere team specializing in the understanding of the unique and complex needs required for colony management, study design, and hands-on support of investigators to deliver best-in-class personalized service.
Kristin holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in Animal Science and an M.S. in Biotech Management from University of Maryland University College. She is additionally trained and proficient in CARD methods for rederivation, cryopreservation, IVF, and strain rescue along with being CMAR certified by AALAS.
